The Vibe
If Hollywood met the 6 o’clock news and they decided to co-design an engagement ring, it would look a lot like The Cut. Talitha Cummins, once a fixture on Australia’s morning television, now directs her spotlight toward the kind of diamonds that turn heads for all the right reasons. In her Oxford Street HQ, sparkle meets conscience: lab-grown stones with the same fire as their mined cousins, but without the environmental hangover or ethical baggage. Every piece is a statement — that beauty, luxury, and integrity can exist in the same sentence (and on the same finger).

The Sustainability Edge
Lab-grown diamonds aren’t the “almost” option — they’re chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined stones, but come without the human rights violations, ecological devastation, and inflated cost. They require up to 99% less land and water to produce, and The Cut doubles down by using only recycled precious metals in every setting. This isn’t trend-following sustainability, it’s a permanent shift in how fine jewellery is designed, sourced, and valued.
The Founder
Talitha Cummins has worn many hats, and many camera-ready diamond earrings during her 20-year career as one of Australia’s most recognisable TV presenters. But long before her time on Seven Morning News and Weekend Sunrise, she was immersed in the fine jewellery trade, mentored by her uncle Craig Blizzard, a master jeweller with over 50 years’ experience.
In 2023, she returned to her roots with The Cut Jewellery, teaming up with Craig and cousin Kara Blizzard (Head Designer) to launch a line dedicated entirely to lab-grown diamonds. Cummins is currently completing her diamond grading and design certification through the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), applying newsroom-level precision to every cut, carat, and consultation.

Frequently asked questions
Are lab-grown diamonds real?
Yes. Lab-grown diamonds are identical to mined diamonds in chemistry, structure, and sparkle. The US Federal Trade Commission classifies them as real diamonds, not simulants.
What’s the difference between lab-grown and mined diamonds?
Lab-grown diamonds are created in a controlled environment, eliminating the need for destructive mining practices and avoiding human rights concerns.
Can I design my own ring?
Absolutely. The bespoke process includes a consultation (in person or virtual) and a CAD design preview before your diamond is set.
Do you use recycled metals?
Yes — all gold and platinum used in The Cut Jewellery pieces is recycled, ensuring minimal environmental impact.
Is lab-grown diamond jewellery cheaper?
Typically, yes. Without the high costs of mining, you can often afford a larger or higher-quality stone for the same budget.
Do you offer men’s jewellery?
Yes — The Cut offers wedding bands, signet rings, and custom men’s pieces, all designed with the same ethical standards.
