Three days. Private land in the Byron hinterland. Women only, adults only, and completely catered by Pete Evans. Evolve Sanctuary is not the kind of retreat that schedules every hour and calls it restoration. It is yin yoga and breathwork in the morning, heat and cold therapy when you feel like it, unstructured time on the property, and food that is genuinely good for you. The school run, the inbox, and the mental load will all still be there Sunday afternoon. You will just be better equipped to deal with them.

Accommodation & Facilities
Cabins That Actually Let You Sleep
Forget generic hotel rooms designed for turnover, not rest. Evolve Sanctuary offers six newly renovated one-bedroom eco-cabins set across the property, each designed for proper sleep and genuine downtime, plus one two-bedroom option for shared stays.
What You Get
-
A queen-size bed from The Natural Bedding Company with eco-linens that knock you out cleaner than melatonin
-
A spring-fed water shower and private bathroom (yes, the water literally comes from the mountain)
-
A private deck overlooking open land and natural surrounds, with no traffic noise and no distractions
Going Double
Travelling with a friend? The two-bedroom cabin includes two queen beds, the same eco-linen setup, a private bathroom, and space to relax without feeling on top of each other.
The Vibe
This isn’t styled “glamping” or wellness-by-marketing. It’s quiet, spacious, and grounded. Cabins are spread out across the property, with the float tank, magnesium pool, sauna, ice baths, and creek all within easy walking distance. Privacy when you want it, shared space when you don’t.

Food Philosophy & Cooking School
Fresh, Local, and Anything but Basic
This isn’t restrictive spa food or decorative plates. At Evolve Sanctuary, meals are guided by Pete Evans’ long-standing food-as-foundation philosophy, simple, nutrient-dense, and built around ingredients that actually sustain energy.
The focus is on high-quality produce sourced from local farmers and fishers who know their land, their animals, and their seasons.
The Line-Up
-
Water tapped straight from the spring on-site
-
Seasonal juices and smoothies that taste like they were poured straight from the orchard
-
Bone broths and soups that go deeper than your average cleanse
-
Vegetables roasted, smoked, or stir-fried until they hit peak flavour
-
Pasture-raised meats cooked low and slow
- Pasture eggs prepared simply and properly
- Nuts and seeds served whole, activated or ground into sauces for dressing
-
Wild seafood, raw or grilled to perfection
-
Naturally fermented foods to support gut health
The Pete Factor
With decades in the kitchen and a body of work that bridges professional cooking and wellness culture, Pete Evans leads informal cooking sessions that feel more like shared meals than demonstrations. Think practical insights, relaxed conversation, and food that makes sense long after the retreat ends.

Getting There
Check in from 2:30pm Friday. Checkout 2:30pm Sunday. Guests will need to arrange their own transport. The closest airport is Coolangatta (Gold Coast), around an hour's drive. Ballina is just over an hour, and Brisbane is two hours south. From any airport, car hire is recommended; the sanctuary is 25 minutes inland from Murwillumbah. Precise directions and address are provided upon booking.
The BioHax Take
Small group. Private land. Pete Evans on the pans. The cabins are quiet, the creek is cold, and nobody is performing wellness at anyone. Breathwork in the morning, bodywork in the afternoon, long communal meals built on local produce in between. Evolve Sanctuary does not oversell what it is. Three days in the shadow of Wollumbin and you leave steadier than you arrived. That is the whole point.
