Mustard seeds are a very popular ingredient in cooking with a well-loved pungent flavour. Mustard seeds also find a place in the Bible and their first usage is recorded in Ayurvedic scripts that date back thousands of years. Apart from food, mustard seeds hold a range of health benefits including: to treat rheumatic arthritis, migraines, respiratory congestion, high in dietary fibre, menopausal relief, treatment of asthma.
Organic Mustard Seeds are from the mustard plant, which is a cruciferous vegetable related to broccoli, Brussels sprouts and cabbage. The black mustard seeds have the most intense flavour, making them a great addition to your cooking in a variety of dishes such as curries, soups, roasted vegetables and rice. They are also used in spice mixes. Mustard seeds can be roasted in a skillet or use them as they are.
Mustard seeds are also used as a natural scrub for the skin, hydrating the skin and slowing down aging as they are high in vitamins A, C and K. Mustard seeds also contain protein, calcium and omega 3 & 6 fatty acids which contribute to hair strength and growth.
How to Use
These dried seeds can be used whole or ground in pickles, mustard and sauces. When sautéed in oil, the taste of the seeds will remain subtle and add a less pungent flavour to dishes. Dry roast to add fabulous warmth to curry pastes and spice blends. Brown mustard seeds are delicious in seafood dishes, soups and hot pots. For something new, try some in savoury baking recipes like seed loaves or cheese muffins.
These seeds can be ground into a smooth paste with herbs and spices such as tarragon, turmeric, garlic, pepper, paprika or any others that you prefer to make a homemade mustard.

Please advise if you would like to physically sign for your package and we will ensure the driver does not leave your order until it has been signed. This information is acquired during the checkout process, before payment, under “delivery instructions”. We also ship to PO boxes by only if shipping is via Australia Post. If you would like to sign for your order and it’s being shipped via Australia Post, there is an additional $2 service fee.
Note: if you request for your order to be signed on delivery and no one is home to sign when the courier arrives, we are unable to take responsibility for any items that have spoiled as a result of being returned to our third-party transport company.
If it is perishable items (fresh produce & broth), we prefer not to leave it outside for more than an hour and recommend having someone home; friend, neighbour or family member to sign for it.
